Vargus Pike

Chairman of the Board

Vargus Pike is a founding member of 9 Bridges and has been instrumental in helping the organization get started. He is a published poet, performance artist and vocalist. In the past he served as a host for several radio programs at WITR in Rochester NY and worked as an editor for the Portland Occupier. He is the founder of Pietzsche Pit Press and a trained educator. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Science from S.U.N.Y Geneseo. Mr. Pike has been a member since the inception of the Portland Chapter in 2013 and served on the CHWG Board of Directors from September 2013 through March, 2015.

He is a frequent workshop presenter, sharing his experience in the field of publishing and poetry. He currently oversees events and strategic partnerships with other community organizations and is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with Portland’s thriving community of poets and artists.
